THERE was a special guest at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday as Father Christmas visited the ground ahead of our game against Lincoln.
Burton Round Table brought Santa and his sleigh to the Pirelli where he greeted our guests in hospitality, handing out presents to the children in attendance.
Richard Williams, a Burton Round Table volunteer, said: “We’re a young men’s organisation who have fun raising money for local charities. Santa’s Sleigh is our biggest event of the year.”
Chair of the Burton Ladies Circle Louise Marshall said: “We go to a number of houses over the course of December taking Santa round.
“All of the money that is raised goes to local charities both bigger charities and some smaller ones. The Young Ones, Burton Rugby Club and Burton Ladies Club all supporting us on Saturday.
“We really enjoy coming around and spreading some Christmas joy and also giving some money to local charities which we do after Christmas.”
