INJURY UPDATE: WYCOMBE

11 December 2019

NIGEL Clough is hoping a week’s rest will enable three injured players to return to fitness.

The Brewers have been without defenders Reece Hutchinson and John Brayford and striker Oliver Sarkic but the Albion manager is hopeful that they all may play a part as his team travel to league leaders Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday (kick off 3pm).

Clough said: “The squad is a bit stretched at the moment, but we knew over the course of the first half of the season it was going to be.

“A few days without a midweek game will help and give John Brayford, Oliver Sarkic and Reece Hutchinson a chance. We are looking to them training towards the end of the week with a view to being involved on Saturday.

“I don’t think Nathan Broadhead will make it. It was a blow last week losing him.

“We are without John-Joe O’Toole through suspension as well, but it will give us a boost if we can get three players back if they are fit.

“We have to be careful with them, and Nathan looks like being out two to three weeks which is a lot of games and we can’t afford any of the other three to be in the same boat.”
