FANS URGED TO SUPPORT YMCA FOOD COLLECTION

20 December 2019

BURTON Albion Football Club will be holding a collection for Burton YMCA’s foodbank on Saturday and we are urging supporters to make an important contribution prior to the game against Rochdale (kick off 3pm).

From 1.30pm on Saturday, Burton Albion Community Trust will be accepting donations of food items that will subsequently be given to Burton YMCA.

The YMCA’s foodbank provides a vital service for struggling families and individuals, helping to feed those who need the help of the local community.

All donations can be handed in to the Burton Albion Community Football Centre building at the Pirelli Stadium (adjacent to the 3G pitch) from 1.30pm on Saturday.

Burton YMCA is happy to take all donations of non-perishable foods - tins or packets - but is in special need of the following:

- Tinned potatoes

- UHT cartons of milk

- Tinned fruit

- Tinned rice pudding

- Tinned meals – like fray bentos pies/stewed beef etc

- Coffee

- Tinned veg

Burton Albion's first team squad have donated to the foodbank once again this year (pictured), and fans are urged to do the same on Saturday.

Matt Hancock, Burton Albion Community Trust’s Head of Community, said: "The YMCA does a fantastic job helping those in need all year round but the demand for its support increases at Christmas. The club and Burton Albion Community Trust are only too happy to help support Burton YMCA as they look to provide support and food to those who most need it at this time of year.

"We hope as many Brewers fans as possible are able to donate items ahead of Saturday’s game."
