CLOUGH HAPPY WITH SQUAD FOR LEAGUE ONE RUN IN

4 February 2019

NIGEL Clough says he is happy with a squad of 19 outfield players for the remaining 16 League One games.

The Brewers brought in Alex Bradley on loan on transfer deadline day but parted company with Ben Turner while Marvin Sordell went out on loan to Northampton.

The Brewers manager said: “We think we are covered in every position with what we have got. It wasn’t a set number we were after it just worked out like that.

“We are very happy with the squad and they are all fit apart from Ben Fox, who shouldn’t be more than a couple of weeks.

“When we turn round and look at the bench, we are happy with what we see. We have Alex Bradley as well who wasn’t in the squad on Saturday. He will be next week and we want to have a look at him. We like the initiative he has shown asking if he can come training with us. He fits into the mould of the other young players we have got.

“We have 16 games to go and want to finish the season as strongly as we can and give the young players a chance.

“We have always had one eye on building for next season, that’s what most of the decisions in January have been about.”
