AKINS KEEN FOR BREWERS TO LOOK UP THE TABLE

8 February 2019

LUCAS Akins is keen for the Brewers to be able to look up the table rather than at the teams below them, but admits that the remaining games in February will be crucial to how Albion finish the season.

Nigel Clough’s side have only lost once in their last eight games and currently sit in 13th place, six points above the League One relegation zone.

Akins admits that the games they play between now and the end of February will be key for the Brewers, but wants to be able to push up into the top half rather than looking towards the lower sides in the table, starting with the game against AFC Wimbledon this weekend.

He said “We will be looking to win the game, we do set out to attack teams. We want to be as defensively resolute as we have been of late. We want to build on that and win.

“Obviously, they are bottom of the league but they are no mugs. We want to go there and get a win so that we can start looking up the table.

“The next few games will define our season. We all know that, it is clear for everyone to see. We are running out of opportunities if we do want to make something of this season.

“I believe that the team is definitely good enough, we just need to show that now on the pitch, in terms of getting some vital wins to be looking up the table rather than over our shoulders.”
