NIGEL Clough says that bottom of the table Wimbledon have shown in the FA Cup the kind of form they are capable of producing.
The Brewers travel to the Cherry Red Records Stadium tomorrow (kick off 3pm) to play a team who are eight points adrift and who have lost their last three league games.
But Wimbledon are also through to the Fifth Round of the FA Cup after beating Premier League West Ham.
Clough said: “What you see in the cup is what they are capable of. They will be saying they have to take that cup form into the league. I watched the game against West Ham and they thoroughly deserved the victory – not just through luck or launching the ball forward. They showed their potential and capabilities on that day.
“All the teams in League One have that potential on the day and no more so than Wimbledon despite being bottom.
“I hope they are distracted by the FA Cup as they have another game coming up. But they won’t have given up on the league. We haven’t given up on the play offs and they won’t have given up on staying up. A home game is a good chance for them to get a win and start a run going."
