FRASER AND FOX VISIT MOSLEY COUNTY PRIMARY SCHOOL

12 February 2019

BREWERS stars Ben Fox and Scott Fraser have been out in the community as part of the Move & Learn project.

This is the third time that Burton Albion first team players have shown support for the project over the past two weeks. Joe Sbarra, Reece Hutchinson, Colin Daniel and Brad Collins have also visited schools which Burton Albion Community Trust are delivering the Move & Learn programme in.

The players answered questions on living a healthy lifestyle, as well as getting involved in physical activity, which included dodgeball sessions. During the visit, they also took time to pose for photographs and sign autographs for the excited Year 5 youngsters.

The Move & Learn project is a national school-based educational programme for children aged 9-10 that has been developed by the EFL Trust and Ferrero.

By combining six weeks of practical sporting sessions with classroom sessions, the programme encourages physical activity, promotes nutritional education and builds awareness of the importance of a healthy diet and active lifestyle.

The programme content is developed by nutritional and educational experts in line with the recommendations in the Government’s eat well plate and the National Curriculum.

To date, the programme has been delivered locally by 26 football club trusts in 1,495 schools, with over 80,000 children impacted.

Paul Furniss, Primary Schools Manager, said: “It was great to have the lads join us over the past few days!

“They’ve been absolutely fantastic and the schools have been delighted to get to meet the players first-hand.”
