INJURY UPDATE: SHREWSBURY

13 February 2019

JOSH Clarke (ankle) and Ben Fox (hamstring) are not expected to recover from injury in time for Saturday’s trip to Shrewsbury (kick off 3pm).

Brewers manager Nigel Clough says that both players remain “doubtful” for Saturday but says that “everyone else came through OK” after the victory at Wimbledon last time out.

Clough will have John Brayford back after the defender completed his one-match suspension for a red card in the home draw with Oxford but after the defence recorded a clean sheet at the Cherry Red Records Stadium has to decide whether or not to make a change.

He said: “It’s a different game with a different kind of threat so we will have a think about it in the next few days and see if we can get John back in there but otherwise he will start on the bench.”

Clough is hoping for a repeat of what he described as a “mature” performance at Wimbledon when the Brewers take on another struggling team in Shrewsbury.

He said: “They are fighting and scrapping down there and with Wimbledon going and winning away at Walsall last night it shows what a good victory it was."
