BREWERS defender Kyle McFadzean was pleased with both the performance and result, as Burton Albion held promotion-hopefuls Barnsley to a 0-0 draw on Tuesday night.
Reflecting on another away point against an attacking Barnsley side, Kyle said: “We were good and did a job tonight, we headed and cleared everything, and I thought the lads in front of us worked really hard and it was a good team performance.
“We said that we didn’t think they were going to score, because they didn’t cause us any problems, and I think we dealt with it.
“It is always nice coming here and getting a result. It would have been even nicer if we could have got a win, but we will take a nil-nil.”
A goalless draw at the South Yorkshire club was sweeter considering Barnsley’s effective strike-force, including former-Brewer Cauley Woodrow, who Kyle was quick to compliment.
“He is a danger and a good player, we had to look out for him and we’re glad he didn’t score!
“But he is a good player, and all the best to him this season.”
Another result on-the-road means the Brewers are undefeated away from home in the league in 2019.
“We are full of confidence”, McFadzean commented.
“The lads in front of us are a bit unlucky. If we had chosen the right pass they would have been clean through [on goal] but sometimes it is like that.
“We [would have] come away with a nil-nil any day.”
