WALLACE SIGNS CONTRACT UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON

8 January 2019

KIERAN Wallace has signed a contract with the Brewers until the end of the season.

The defender originally joined Burton Albion on non-contract terms in October and recently made his first League One start at Bristol Rovers.

The 23-year-old made 15 League One appearances for Sheffield United under manager Nigel Clough. Wallace, a former Nottingham Forest trainee, spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Fleetwood.

Clough said: "Kieran has impressed us since starting training a few months ago and we are delighted that he's staying with us until the end of the season at least.

"He's one of those players who can cover us in two or three positions competently and he proved that when he came on for Stephen Quinn at Rochdale on Saturday.

"He now has another opportunity to impress us and earn a longer deal."

Wallace said: “I'm really pleased. This was my aim when I joined the club to sort myself out with a deal until the end of the season and I'm happy that the manager has shown his faith in me not only by giving me a few games but by wanting to keep me here until the end of the season.

"I have shown the progression from training, to getting into the squad, to getting a few chances here and there and I now want to try and kick on and help the team as much as I can."
