NIGEL Clough is expecting both the Brewers and Doncaster to still be feeling the sting of last-minute defeats last weekend.
The Brewers lost 3-2 to Gillingham as the visitors scored a late winner, whilst Doncaster conceded two goals in injury time to lose 3-2 at Wycombe.
Clough said: “I think having had 31 shots and dominating the game we will probably hurt a bit more than Doncaster.
“We saw when they came here what a very good footballing side Doncaster are and they are more than capable if everything clicks for them of beating any team in the league by three or four.
“They are a very good team, and it will be an interesting game and we will see how we react to last Saturday and how they react to their defeat as well.”
Doncaster are just outside the play off places in the kind of position Clough feels the Brewers should be.
He said: “If we had beaten Gillingham, we would have been nine points off the play offs but instead we are closer to the bottom four than the top six so it’s not an ideal situation and that makes it a very important game on Saturday.
“We have got into the top half of the league because of our results over Christmas and Saturday’s defeat means we can drop back into the bottom eight so the next two league games are very important.”
