PREVIEW: DONCASTER ROVERS VS BREWERS

19 January 2019

THE Brewers return to the Keepmoat Stadium for the first time since their 2016 promotion to the Championship, which was confirmed at the stadium.

HEAD 2 HEAD

Brewers fans will not need any reminding of THAT day at the Keepmoat Stadium, which saw Albion backed by a bumper away crowd as we drew 0-0 with Doncaster Rovers to secure promotion to the Championship for the first time in our history.

The last meeting between these teams came in August, when the Brewers overcame Doncaster at the Pirelli Stadium 1-0 thanks to a goal from Liam Boyce. The match report and highlights of that game can be found here.

BURTON ALBION TEAM NEWS

Marcus Harness and Jake Buxton have recovered from the illness that kept them out of the defeat to Gillingham and could be restored to the squad for today’s game.

Liam Boyce is being monitored after picking up a knock in training, with manager Nigel Clough hoping that the forward will be fit enough to face Doncaster.

DONCASTER ROVERS TEAM NEWS

Niall Mason could be in-line to return from injury against the Brewers. The defender has been out of action with a toe injury since the start of December but was on the bench for Rovers’ 3-2 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers last weekend.

OFFICIALS

Paul Marsden will referee today’s match. He has taken charge of three League One games this season and has handed out 20 yellow cards, as well as one red card.

Marsden has also awarded one penalty in the third-tier this season.

Marsden will be assisted by David Avent and Robert Atkin, while Steven Rushton will be the fourth official for today’s game.
