NIGEL Clough is hoping to add to his defensive options with new signings this week.
The Albion manager is looking for players with experience to add to what is a crop of emerging young talent at the Pirelli Stadium.
He said: "We hopefully might have a couple lined up for this week, maybe permanent rather than loan signings and we are working on those at the moment to be available on Saturday.
"I think we have enough young players we just need a bit more experience.
"Reece Hutchinson is going to have to have a breather at some point as well so we will hopefully have someone coming in to cover that and another defender as well.
"A couple of players have become available in the last few days who we have always liked, so we are doing everything we can to get a deal together. One might be to the end of the season, the other probably 18 months - so that will help us out. One or two might have to go to make room, but that's football.
"We are generally happy with the squad. I think you can see a nucleus emerging with the team. It might be too much for this season but we can see the basis of a squad that can put a challenge together."
