ALLEN AND FRASER DOUBTFUL FOR SEMI-FINAL

22 January 2019

JAMIE Allen and Scott Fraser are the two biggest injury doubts heading into tomorrow’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.

The Brewers face Manchester City looking to avoid another heavy defeat after the 9-0 in the first leg but may have to cope without the two influential midfielders.

Both players came off in the second half of the 2-2 draw at Doncaster on Saturday.

Nigel Clough said: “Jamie has been struggling with his ankle for the last four weeks and Scott picked up a knock to his knee – so both are doubtful.”

Josh Clarke is cup tied having already played for Brentford in the competition this season.

But new signing Colin Daniel is available having not featured for Peterborough in the Carabao Cup this season.

The Brewers manager says that his team were a bit in awe of City at the Etihad but hopes that being on home soil will be more reassured.

Clough said: “We have generally played very well at home in the league and cup as well so we want to keep playing the same way as we have been good for six to eight weeks now.

“We just do not always get the results because defensively we haven’t been good enough but attacking wise we want to keep that going if we can. It’s a case of what they will let us do but that’s what we are going to try and do."
