AWAY TRAVELS HOLD NO FEARS FOR BREWERS SAYS CLOUGH

4 March 2019

NIGEL Clough says that back-to-back away games at Coventry and Charlton will not faze his Brewers team.

Albion notched up five points from three consecutive away games before picking up a solitary point from two home games.

Now they return to the road and the Albion manager hopes that his team will pick up where they left off at Barnsley.

He said: “I don’t think the lads mind playing away from home at the moment. It’s funny how the mindset goes. Earlier on in the season we lost the away games and were good at home an then it changes again and at the moment, we are struggling at home to create.

“We are not short of confidence away from home and the last three results show that.

“We are some way short of where we were a few weeks ago. We were very good at Barnsley less than two weeks ago but then the two home games we were struggling.

“The goals we have scored recently have been on the road and the two at Wimbledon were brilliant team goals. We had five or six moves like that against Walsall but didn’t finish them. That’s the difference. But we are still trying to put together the same sort of play and the same sort of moves.

“We need to keep battling away, get some more points on the board and get to that 50-point mark as soon as possible.”
