CLOUGH HAS CLOSE TO A FULL SQUAD TO CHOSE FROM FOR COVENTRY

5 March 2019

NIGEL Clough will have close to a full squad to choose from as the Brewers go into back-to-back away games at Coventry and Charlton.

With Josh Clarke recovering from an ankle injury Clough has pretty much the whole first team fit and ready to go with the Brewers travelling to Coventry on Friday night (kick off 7.45pm).

The Albion manager said: "Josh needs some training that’s all. He had 45 minutes in a friendly against Crewe last week. We will get him back in training now and try get him back in the squad.

"Everyone else is about fit at the moment including Damien McCrory and Ben Fox who with Josh are just outside the 18 at the moment. But it’s where you get them in.”

The Brewers are short of goals in recent games but Clough believes his team is close and may therefore resist the temptation to make changes.

He said: “We have four or five who are misfiring a little bit at the moment. If there is one or two you get away with it.

“Liam Boyce is struggling a little bit, David Templeton is getting in good positions but not scoring. Marcus Harness is working hard but doesn’t look like scoring. Scott Fraser and Jamie Allen who got goals earlier in the season are not getting them at the moment.

“We just need a little bit more in that final third and for somebody to stand up and say 'I’m going to create one or score one today'.”
