BUXTON AND WALLACE RAISE LAUGHS AND DONATIONS FOR RED NOSE DAY

18 March 2019

BURTON Albion Football Club and Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) were in attendance at Burton-upon-Trent’s Sainsbury's supermarket last Friday as part of Red Nose Day.

First-team skipper Jake Buxton and Kieran Wallace joined Bettie Brewer in supporting both Sainsbury’s and BACT staff, as they engaged with customers to try and raise funds for the appeal. The pair could be found making and handing out fruit smoothies to customers, as well as helping to bag-pack.

James Parsonage, Health and Wellbeing Team Leader, said: “We’re really grateful to Bucko and Kieran for helping to join in with the event and you could tell just how much of a difference it made.

“Having two of the players there grabbed lots of attention and people clearly loved the fact that they were there.

“We support this fantastic cause (Comic Relief) every single year and we’ve worked with Sainsbury’s in the past. So as soon as we received interest from them to run an event, then it was a no-brainer on our behalf.”

£63,548,668 has been raised so far from this year’s campaign, which support some brilliant causes. It’s not too late to donate - you can do so by clicking here.
