BREWERS FIRST-TEAM'S FIRST DAY OF TRAINING AT WARM-WEATHER CAMP

18 March 2019

BURTON Albion's first-team have begun the first day of their warm-weather training camp in Spain.

The Brewers have headed to the warmer climes for further preparations ahead of the final eight games of the Sky Bet League One season, particularly given the blustery conditions over the last few weeks closer to home.

And as manager Nigel Clough has told iFollow Brewers, this trip has been arranged since the Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Middlesbrough, back in December.

"We are having two or three days in Spain," said Clough.

"The conditions over the last week or so have been horrendous in training. The pitches at St George's Park are magnificent and they look after us brilliantly but you can't do anything about the wind. It has made it very difficult with the rain as well so we are getting away.

"It has all been arranged since Middlesbrough as a little reward for the players for getting to the Carabao Cup semi-finals so there will be a little bit of rest but certainly a couple of good days training."
