AKINS IS A DOUBLE WINNER AT PLAYERS' AWARDS NIGHT

1 May 2019

LUCAS Akins was a double award winner after being named by both the supporters and players as their Player of the Season.

Akins made it a double-double after also winning both awards a year ago.

He said: “I don’t expect anything – not even to play in the next game. To win this is very humbling.

“I really do enjoy coming in and working with the management staff and this group of players.

"It has been the best time of my career at this football club and I think the next chapter will be interesting and we can achieve a lot with this group of players.”

Brad Collns was runner-up in the Player of the Season poll as voted for by Burton Albion supporters.

Aaron Webster was the second player inducted into the Burton Albion Hall of Fame - another award voted for by Brewers supporters.
