YOUNG BREWERS IMPRESS JAKE BUXTON AHEAD OF FA YOUTH CUP TIE

11 November 2019

Brewers skipper Jake Buxton has said that he was “really impressed” with the Burton Albion Young Brewers following their win against Chesterfield in the FA Youth Cup, and is looking forward to seeing them play at home to Bolton on Wednesday 13th November.

The Academy squad came out 2-1 victors away to the Spirites and drew a home tie at the Pirelli Stadium in the second round proper of the youth-equivalent of English football’s most prestigious trophy.

Jake Buxton said of the Young Brewers: “I was really impressed with the kids on Monday night at Chesterfield.

Buxton also cited that the Young Brewers’ players may also be able to work their way into the first-team squad, should they impress sufficiently in the competition:

“If they keep improving and doing what they’re doing, they [might] get that opportunity to come with us and then they might shine.”

Overall, Jake admired what he saw and says that the first-team will be in attendance at the Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday, for the 7pm kick-off:

“It was good and we were really happy with what we saw.

“We are all going as a squad to support the lads on Wednesday night.”

Brewers fans are invited down to the Pirelli Stadium for the cup fixture, with only the South Stand (seated) being open.

Ticket prices are as follows:
