GOAL-SCORER TEMPLETON REFLECTS ON SALFORD CITY WIN

20 November 2019

David Templeton made it four goals in five starts as he provided the catalyst to a fine 4-1 win against Salford City on Tuesday night.

A fantastic strike from just inside the box, scored into the bottom right corner, came shortly after the Ammies had equalised, with the Brewers going 2-1 up and into a lead which they retained in fine fashion.

The Scottish winger said: “I have had a lot of good positions where I could put those type of shots away, and I’ve had a few this season where I have put it high or put it wide.

“I’ve been trying to make sure that if I get in that area, that I keep it down and at least make the keeper make a save, and thankfully the one tonight went in.”

“It was nice at one-each to go and get that goal.”

There was frustration amongst players and supporters alike following Salford’s equaliser, but the reaction from the Brewers was a positive one as they restored their lead shortly after the hour-mark.

“I think we felt hard-done by for their goal, we thought it was a foul beforehand.

“But with the way we reacted and managed to get that goal to put us back ahead, we controlled it.”
