BURTON Albion Ladies have signed forward Charlotte Reinforth ahead of today’s Birmingham Senior Cup match against Coventrians Ladies (3pm kick-off at Lichfield City FC).
Reinforth joins the Brewers having played for Hilton Harriers Ladies last season but more recently has been a part of the Burton Albion Community Trust Football and Education programme.
Brewers Manager James Billings believes Reinforth will continue to help the team improve.
“She a good addition to the squad,” he said.
“She will challenge and push the other players around her to get better and improve the team going forward. She understands my expectations after playing for me (for the F&E team) for four years so I know she can come straight in and make an impact.”
Reinforth already has prior experience having played for the Brewers from Juniors right through to the Ladies reserve team before joining Hilton.
The new signing was at Lye Town for the side's game last weekend and saw what a confidence boost the team has gained from that 6-0 victory.
“I didn't participate in the game, I wasn't even a sub - I was just a new signing sitting on the bench but it was a good result for us to get, especially after so many losses and draws," said Reinforth.
"It also gave the team a real boost of confidence again which is really good going forward for the team."
Reinforth has been getting used to playing with her new teammates and hopes she can get to see the pitch today for the Brewers.
“I’m looking forward to it,” she said.
“I’ve been to training for a few sessions and all the girls are really nice but I don’t know if I’ll be starting or not. It’ll be good if I do, even if I get myself on the bench to get a few minutes in just to integrate with everyone and be a good addition to the team.
“I just wanted to play a bit more football, that’s why I’ve signed so hopefully I can do that here.”
The Brewers take on Coventrians at Lichfield City FC today, with a 3pm kick-off, looking to advance in the Birmingham Senior Cup.
