INJURY UPDATE: OLDHAM

29 November 2019

NIGEL Clough says he will have to manage his squad as the games come thick and fast and niggling injuries build up.

The Brewers travel to Oldham tomorrow (kick off 3pm)  hoping to book a place in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup and then face back-to-back home games against Southend and Lincoln.

Several players are nursing injuries and will have to be assessed ahead of tomorrow’s game.

The Albion manager said: “We said this was a big week with the three away games but now starting tomorrow we have another big week with the two home games and a Third Round place at stake.

“We have got a few niggles and the squad is stretched again but we will shuffle it around the best we can to get everyone on the pitch when we can in the next three games.

“Richard Nartey and John Brayford are both doubts for tomorrow, Scotty Fraser is struggling with his hip which he has been carrying for a few weeks. Stephen Quinn got a couple of whacks the other night and did well to finish the game. Nathan Broadhead is struggling but has a chance for the home games next week

“There are one or two carrying things – it’s  a case of what they can do in the next seven days and how we plan it.”

Better news for the Brewers is that Reece Hutchinson was down to return to training today.

“If he’s OK and we are light on the bench we might put him down as one of the subs tomorrow,” said Clough.
