BURTON Albion Football Club will once again be sponsoring the YMCA Sleepout which helps raise funds to tackle homelessness.
This is the 11th year the YMCA has organised the Sleepout, which invites people to spend a night in a cardboard box in order to help raise awareness of homelessness and vital funds for the Charity.
More than 240 people took part in 2018 and they raised £50,104.
On Friday, November 8, this year’s Sleepout will take place at the Pirelli Stadium, the home of Burton Albion.
The football club will again be providing the venue for free, providing staff to clear up afterwards and serve breakfast and will be donating the cardboard boxes that will be used to sleep in.
Burton Albion Chairman Ben Robinson is also President of Burton YMCA.
He said: “The football club is once again delighted to sponsor and support the Sleepout.
“It was a record-breaking year last year and I’m sure 2019 will be another big success that will help raise awareness of homelessness and raise funds to tackle this important problem.
“The YMCA provides a vital service in Burton and I hope as many people as possible will sign up and register to do the Sleepout.”

The Sleepout costs £10 per adult and £5 for under 18s (who must have permission and be accompanied by an adult).
