PREVIEW: FLEETWOOD TOWN (AWAY)

18 October 2019

THE Brewers return to League One action with an away trip to Fleetwood Town tomorrow (kick off 3pm).

HEAD 2 HEAD

The Brewers lost both games to Fleetwood last season by the same scoreline 1-0. The away fixture in December 2018 was played in atrocious weather with gale force winds, driving rain and freezing temperatures that made it nearly impossible to play football. A Ched Evans penalty separated the sides. In the return at the Pirelli in February 2019, a frustrating game saw the visitors head back to the Fylde coast with all three points after Ashley Nadesan's 57th minutes strike settled the match.

BREWERS TEAM NEWS

Albion expect to be without Stephen Quinn (knee) and John Brayford (calf) but Jake Buxton (ribs) came through a Birmingham Senior Cup tie at Hednesford and will be in the squad.

FLEETWOOD NEWS

Joey Barton won his first Manager of the Month award after Fleetwood Town took 10 points from four games in September in League One. The curse of the Manager of the Month award promptly kicked in with Fleetwood then losing their first game in October – but it was a narrow 1-0 defeat to leaders Ipswich. Like the Brewers, they haven’t played a League game since October 5 due to the international break.

INFORMATION FOR TRAVELLING FANS

Fleetwood have an acoustic artist performing tomorrow, singing well-known classics at the match. Josh Bilsborrow will be performing before and after the game in Jim's Bar.

Jim's Bar offers a range of selected beers for only £2 a pint between 12-2pm and after the final whistle for an hour. Another offer is the quick serve bottle bar with offers of four bottles for £10.

Cod Army fish and chips are available in the Red and Whites area off the bar. Lots of other food available in Jim's.

REFEREE

The man in charge of the game is Christopher Sarginson. His assistants will be Barry Gordon and Graeme Fyvie.

Mr Sarginson last took charge of a Brewers game in August 2018 when we lost 1-0 at Bradford. He has been the man in the middle on seven occasions this season – three of them in League One – and he has handed out 17 yellow cards and no red cards.
