BURTON Albion will play League Two side Salford City in the First Round of the 2019/20 Emirates FA Cup.
The tie will be played at the Peninsula Stadium in Salford on the weekend of November 9 - less than three weeks away. It will be our first trip to Salford's ground!
Manager Nigel Clough reacted to the tie, saying it was an interesting one for the club and fans.
"It's a shame it isn't a home game, but it's an interesting tie," said Clough.
"We were where they are and with the Manchester United connection with the owners and everything, makes it quite an interesting tie. We’ve never been to the ground at Salford either.
"One of our lads found a stat last week that in the calendar year to last Saturday we were the second-highest scorers away from home in the country, one goal behind Manchester City, so going away from home doesn’t bother us too much, but a home draw would have been nice."
Defender Richard Nartey is preparing for a tough test from the recently-promoted Ammies.
"Salford obviously came up, as we know, and it’ll be a tough game," said the on-loan Chelsea defender.
"We’ve got to take it as seriously as we take anyone."
