INJURY UPDATE: BOURNEMOUTH (H)

23 September 2019

NIGEL Clough is pleased to have defender John-Joe O'Toole available again for selection after suspension but has several injury doubts heading into Wednesday night's Carabao Cup Third Round clash with Premier League side Bournemouth.

O'Toole missed Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Tranmere Rovers having picked up two yellow cards in the previous game with Portsmouth, but is available again having served his one-match suspension.

And Clough says O'Toole's presence has been missed and his return is a timely boost to the defence with full-backs John Brayford and Colin Daniel, definitely missing for Bournemouth.

"John-Joe will be back, which will be a big boost," said Clough.

"Aerially, I think we missed him on Saturday.

"John Brayford has no chance with his calf. He’ll be scanned and we’ll know a bit more from there.

"Stephen Quinn felt his knee in a challenge near the dugout in the second half, but continued as long as he could. Colin Daniel is suspended having picked up two yellow cards in the competition.

"Jake Buxton still isn’t right with his rib while Scott Fraser (ankle), we have to wait and see how he is. Temps trained just one day last week with his knee but hopefully he will be available."
