LLOYD DYER SIGNS FOR BURTON ALBION ON SHORT-TERM DEAL

25 September 2019

LLOYD Dyer has returned to Burton Albion on a short-term contract, providing another option for manager Nigel Clough.

The 37-year-old winger has been training with the first team at St George’s Park, having spent two seasons with us in the Championship.

Initially signing in the summer of 2016, Dyer went on to score 15 goals across his two seasons with us, making 84 appearances and becoming a popular player with the Brewers faithful before leaving the club in 2018.

Dyer has previously played for Leicester City, Watford and MK Dons, among others.

Manager Nigel Clough said: “He’s been training with us for the last month, and with us being a bit short squad-wise with injuries starting to bite, Lloyd is just going to help out if we need him.

“We know him, he’s experienced and he knows us as a club and he’s very keen to keep on playing.

“This gives him a chance to hopefully get on the pitch and impress somebody to get something.”

Dyer is available for tonight’s Carabao Cup Third Round clash with AFC Bournemouth, and will wear the number 23 shirt at the Pirelli Stadium.
