BREWERS PLAYERS VISIT THE PHASE 2 GYM

28 August 2020

BURTON Albion players have been keeping fit and ready ahead of the return of competitive football next Friday evening (4 Sept), as they prepare to face Accrington Stanley in the Carabao Cup first round.

Albion’s first team squad have benefitted from a training session with a difference, as Jake Buxton’s side recently visited The Phase 2 Gym, Alrewas. The gym is the first and largest full-time family fitness and martial arts centre in the area.

The Brewers First Team Coach Chris Beardsley said: “It’s going to be another demanding season for the first team squad with all the league and cup games and health and fitness of the players is a top priority.

“It was a brilliant workout for the lads and was something a little different considering how hard they’ve been working lately.

“We’re grateful to the owner Dan Berry and his team for allowing us to use their brilliant facility and we hope to be able to visit again in the near future.”

The Brewers are back in action tomorrow (29 Aug) to play their penultimate pre-season fixture, as they travel to the Banks’s Stadium to take on Walsall (3pm kick off). The final pre-season game will see Albion travel to the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Tuesday (1 Sept) evening to take on Rotherham United (6pm kick off).
