CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY RAISES £250 FOR DONNA LOUISE CHARITY

16 January 2020

BURTON Albion FC has handed over a cheque for £250 to the Donna Louise charity after staff at the Pirelli Stadium joined in a fundraising Christmas jumper day.

Brewers first team players, Academy staff and players, and football club and community trust staff were all invited to wear Christmas jumpers for the day and to make a donation.

Everyone who donned a festive jumper joined a picture taken in the stands at the Pirelli Stadium which was posted on social media on the day to encourage Brewers fans to also support the charity.

Chris Belyavin, Relationship Manager at The Donna Louise, said: “It has been fantastic. We are hoping it has been the biggest year yet. In 2018 we raised £33,000 with our Christmas jumper day and we are confident we can beat that. We are grateful that Burton Albion Football Club came on board this year to support the day and sent us a great picture of everybody in the stand. Thank you to everyone at the club for joining us.”

Fleur Robinson, Burton Albion Commercial Director, said: “Everyone enjoyed wearing their Christmas jumpers for the day. It added some light hearted fun in the office at a busy time and it’s great the team get behind events such as these to help make a difference. We are always delighted to support The Donna Louise, a charity that both the club and the community trust has worked closely with for a number of years.”
