BUXTON WILL HAVE TO SHUFFLE THE PACK FOR CAMBRIDGE

5 October 2020

THE Brewers are back in action tomorrow night in the EFL Trophy and Jake Buxton will be forced to reshuffle his pack after Saturday’s defeat to Portsmouth.

Cambridge United are the visitors with the game kicking off at 7pm and available to stream on iFollow Brewers.

With loanee Jack Roles on international duty and Stephen Quinn struggling with his knee some of the changes will be enforced.

The Brewers manager said: “There are some players who need minutes and game time but we will have to make changes. Jack goes away with Cyprus and Charles Vernam will struggle to play again after coming back from injury and manging 60 minutes on Saturday. He did OK in flashes but wasn’t as lively as we might expect on the back of only two training sessions.

“Quinny will be struggling as he been feeling his knee for a while. Kieran Wallace pulled his hamstring in training and was only capable of sitting on the bench as well.”

Buxton has also hinted that Kieran O’Hara might start in goal after completing his suspension and needing game time.

Defender Michael Bostwick is also coming back from injury although he may not be risked tomorrow.

Buxton said: “We are hoping to get Michael fit and on the pitch at least by Plymouth as he will play a massive part in those heading battles we have been speaking about. We may need new personnel in there to deal with the set plays we are struggling with.”
