GILBERT AND BOOTH TAKE OVER AS BURTON ALBION LADIES MANAGEMENT TEAM

22 October 2020

KRISTIAN Gilbert and Tommy Booth have been appointed as the new management team of Burton Albion Ladies.

The duo are looking forward to taking over the side, who’s season is underway in the Women’s National League Division 1 Midlands – step 4 in the women’s game.

Following the appointment, Kristian Gilbert said: “It’s a good standard and getting better all the time and we really want to make our mark on the club.

“It’s exciting to be here and we believe that we have the experience to make a difference.

“We are looking to recruit new players, but we have a very good foundation to already work with.

“The juniors coming under the Burton Albion Community Trust arm is fantastic and if we can keep supporting the development of that, then it will only benefit the senior team.”

Tommy Booth explained that the pair have worked together in the past. He said: “Me and Kristian have worked together for a number of years now at reserve level in the ladies’ game and we’re hugely excited about the challenge of first team football.

“As well as wanting to make a lasting impression, we’re also looking to make an immediate impact.”

Burton Albion Commercial Director Fleur Robinson said: “We’re happy with the appointment of Kristian and Tommy and hope that they can take Burton Albion Ladies to the next step.

“Women’s football is something we are committed to promoting and growing so we hope that this appointment can make a real difference to both the senior side and to the rest of the Burton Albion Ladies setup.”
