INJURY UPDATE: AFC WIMBLEDON

22 October 2020

JAKE Buxton is hoping that Ryan Edwards will be fit and ready to face AFC Wimbledon on Saturday after missing Tuesday’s game against Rochdale.

The midfielder is the only injured player to have a chance of returning. Reece Hutchinson is making progress from his foot injury but it’s still too soon for him to feature and Charles Vernam is still probably a couple of weeks away.

John Brayford and Michael Bostwick are facing longer lay offs. Both players have grade two tears that are likely to keep them out until well into November. Brayford’s is a quad injury and Bostwick has a calf problem.

Both missed Tuesday’s defeat to Rochdale as the Brewers bad run of luck with injuries continues so the potential return of Edward would be a big plus.

Buxton said: “Ryan will train tomorrow after picking up a light hamstring injury. It might be too soon for him to come into the starting 11, but he has a chance to be involved on Saturday. We will see how he trains tomorrow and see if he’s fit enough to be available for selection.

“Reece is also making good progress. He has trained well and is looking sharper. He just needs a little bit more time to build up his fitness. He will play a practice game next week but he’s probably still a couple of weeks away from being involved on a matchday.”

Satuday’s game will be streamed live on iFollow Brewers
