BURTON Albion is echoing the passionate calls of footballer Marcus Rashford to help tackle child poverty.
From Monday (26 October), Burton Albion will by providing up to 100 children per day from across East Staffordshire and surrounding areas with free takeaway packed lunches throughout half term.
It comes in the week that a motion on providing 1.4m disadvantaged children with £15-a-week food vouchers during holidays until Easter next year was voted down by Government, much to the despair of campaigning Manchester United and England striker Rashford.
In the last 12 hours, Rashford has been sharing tweets from businesses and councils from across the country who are vowing to step in to ensure children don't go hungry.
The Brewers are backing the initiative and packed lunches will be available to collect from the Pirelli Stadium Club Shop throughout half term (26-30 October).
No questions will be asked, you can simply turn up and collect between 9.30am-12.30pm.
