JAKE Buxton says that Accrington Stanley are always dangerous and have the ability to surprise you as he prepares to take on the Brewers' old adversaries in the Carabao Cup tomorrow night (kick off 7.30pm).
Albion have locked horns with Stanley ever since our Northern Premier League days and the matches have always been keenly contested.
The Brewers manager knows all about the opposition and the threat they pose.
He said: "We spoke to the players and after watching Accrington on the video analysis we told them that they can do anything.
"We must not take it for granted they will be playing 3-5-2 as they can change it up. They are dangerous at set pieces and they always have something in the bag.
"They could play a formation we don't know about or surprise us with a set play or with personnel that is totally different to normal. We have told the players not be caught with the guard dropped down."
Albion have enjoyed a lot of success in the Carabao Cup in the last few seasons beating higher opposition and landing plum ties against Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.
Buxton said: "The club has been massively successful in cup competitions over the years and the remit from me to the players is that every opportunity we get to go out on the pitch we give everything we have got regardless of what the competition is. We want to win every game. The problem is you have a team in front of you trying to do the same.
"The season is here now and we are looking forward to the challenge ahead and it's a great oppotunity for myself and the boys to grasp it."
