HASSELBAINK SAYS JOB IS NOT DONE YET

16 April 2021

JIMMY Floyd Hasselbaink will be telling his players that the job isn’t done yet and that he won’t start planning ahead until the Brewers League One status is absolutely guaranteed.

Albion notched up another six points with impressive away wins at Portsmouth and Doncaster and now sit in 17th – 11 points outside of the relegation zone.

Tomorrow the Brewers are at home to Plymouth with an early 12.30pm kick off, and Hasselbaink wants no signs of complacency.

He said: “We are not concentrating on the 11 points we are ahead. We are in a really good position for what we want to achieve and for what the job was when we came in but if we want to be the best we can be then we have to stay hungry and want to win. We can’t be satisfied, and we aren’t satisfied.

“We want the mentality in the club that we always want to win, we want to give 100 per cent whatever situation we are in

“The team is a pleasure to manage, and I give the players a lot of credit. Things are going well but we don’t get carried away.

“We have turned it around very quickly. The players have really listened, believed and worked hard but it’s not finished yet and we still have matches to play and at the end of the season we will look, assess and see how we have really done.

“We keep on looking at things we can do better as it’s still a work in progress.

“The pressure is little bit off us now compared with where we were before, but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t approach the game in the right way, play it in the right way, and hopefully get another three points.”
