BREWERS IN GHANA IS LAUNCHED

27 April 2021

BURTON Albion Community Trust (BACT) and African Adventures have teamed up once again to offer the opportunity of a lifetime to Brewers fans and the local community.

Brewers in Ghana is an annual trip to the Volta region of the country that offers the opportunity to help build and support local schools.

The Volta Region sits in the Eastern Part of Ghana and is one of the most deprived areas of the country. The trip is open to Burton Albion fans, friends of the Community Trust or anyone that wants the experience of a trip to Africa to help make a difference!

Paul Gaskin, Community Engagement Manager and trip organiser for the BACT trip, said: "We are really excited to be launching our Brewers in Ghana trip for 2022.

"Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, unfortunately our 2020 trip had to be cancelled. Working alongside African Adventures the opportunity to travel to Ghana and support a local school along with the personal development a trip like this can offer makes this trip a unique and humbling opportunity."

Will Newbolt, Partnerships Manager at African Adventures, said: "African Adventures is very excited to have teamed up with BACT for the 4th time. The impact Burton Albion supporters have already made in Ghana has been simply amazing. I am looking forward to forming a new group of like-minded  people to continue the fantastic work already completed."

This opportunity involves a unique trip to Ghana to volunteer at a local school aimed at helping many local communities over there. The eight night trip is set to take place from 9th April 2022 and includes various volunteering experiences such as teaching, coaching, building and renovation which will all positively impact the lives of the local people.

As well as the volunteering, participants will get to experience what a beautiful country Ghana is with adventure days, an overnight stay at Keta Lagoon, local markets, drumming lessons, beach visits and a farewell celebration.

African Adventures is a volunteer travel company that works with 25 community projects in Africa.

They are a unique volunteer travel company, dedicated to improving lives in the UK and Africa. They work with 12 community projects in the Volta region of Ghana that help improve the lives of the 5,500 children who attend.
