BURTON Albion Community Trust is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join an inspiring trip to Ghana in 2022.
The charity arm of Burton Albion FC has established strong community links in the African nation through three previous missions working in schools and undertaking teaching, building and renovation work.
The next trip to the Volta Region, which sits in the Eastern part of Ghana, takes place from April 9 to 19 and BACT wants to give this wonderful opportunity to local people who will gain and benefit from the experience alongside their African counterparts.
This would be a free trip for those who are willing to commit wholeheartedly to the experience and who might otherwise miss out.
BACT wants to hear your stories of why you should be considered for the trip. It might be that you would never have the financial means to make this journey, or that you feel that your life story might give you special reasons for going. Have you had to overcome personal difficulties and challenges? Or have you done something inspirational, perhaps during the pandemic, that would help motivate others?
If you think you have a compelling reason to go on this journey with BACT let us know and we could be changing lives and making memories together.
The trip is organised with African Adventures, a volunteer travel company which works with 25 community projects in Africa.
The normal cost would be £2,295 per person but there will be no charge for successful applicants through this process.
You must be over 16 to apply.
Applications will be open from 1st September to 30th September.
Download an application form HERE and please return it to vacancies@burtonalbionct.org
Each application will be examined by an independent panel which will meet to shortlist and invite applications for an informal interview in October.
