BURTON Albion are delighted to confirm the signing of attacking midfielder Harry Chapman on loan until January from Blackburn Rovers.
The 23-year-old joins us having made three appearances already this season for Championship side Rovers and off the back of a productive loan spell at Shrewsbury Town last season.
In his half-season at Montgomery Waters Meadow, Chapman netted seven times in 23 league games, including one against the Brewers at the Pirelli Stadium, before penning a new one-year contract at Ewood Park.
Chapman, a former England under-20 international, initially signed for Rovers from Middlesbrough in August 2017 on a permanent basis following a loan spell, as well as other loans at Sheffield United and Barnsley.
“We were looking for a number 10, a creative player who can score goals and he’s that kind of player.
“He’s somebody that we’ve liked for a long time and is a very exciting signing for us. Hopefully he can get settled and get going really quickly.”
"I spoke to the gaffer earlier and he basically sold me the club," said Chapman.
"I grew up playing with Bryn Morris when I was younger - he's said the physical demands in training here are quite high but that it's very enjoyable!
"It's a tough league - it's open to anyone. I'm a direct player and hopefully I'm someone who can get the fans off their seats."
Welcome to Burton Albion, Harry! Chapman's first iFollow interview will follow in the coming days.
