THE Chairman of Burton Albion’s charity arm has urged people to buy a ticket to watch the Brewers if they want to thank BAFC for its community impact and the club has responded with a £10 ticket offer for first-time visitors.
John Jackson, Chairman of Burton Albion Community Trust, has been overwhelmed by the response to the Burton Albion Vaccination Centre which has now delivered more than 170,000 doses. That’s on top of the feedback received day-to-day for BACT’s diverse work that includes education, employability, health and wellbeing projects that involve more than 8,000 people each week.
He is now urging those people to respond by coming and watching Burton Albion take on MK Dons on Saturday, December 18 – with tickets at just £10 for those attending a Brewers match for the first time, saving £8 on normal prices.
He said: “Wherever I go, people praise the work the community trust does, and tell me how it has an impact on their lives and wellbeing. That has only grown since the pandemic with the establishment of the Vaccination Centre and all the other things BACT has done to support the community through the problems of coronavirus.
“Everyone asks me what they can do to thank us, and I always have the same response – buy a ticket to a Burton Albion game.
“It’s the football club that underpins everything we do. Without the football club the trust would have never been set up. Without the football club providing the stadium there would be no vaccination centre for BACT to operate. The football club supports and makes possible everything that BACT delivers.
“That’s why buying a ticket to see a match is so important. Having a strong fanbase keeps the football club healthy and that enables BACT to make a difference in the community.”
The £10 offer is available to first time buyers only. To take advantage you must buy tickets online at http://ba6.glitnirticketing.com/baticket/cms/view.php?id=tile_tile_index
You will need to create an account, then go to the MK Dons home fixture on December 18 and enter the code NEWBUYER. This offer applies to terrace tickets only which will be £10 instead of the normal £18. If you want more than one ticket you will have to set up an account for each person as this offer is limited to one per each new account. This offer is not available in the Club Shop or by phone.
Matt Hancock, BACT Head of Community, said: “The Pirelli Stadium is well known as a warm and welcoming place to watch football and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s team are exciting to watch, so please come and enjoy a great game of football knowing that you are supporting everything that this great community football club does.
“We hope our loyal, regular supporters will help us by recommending this offer to family and friends who haven’t yet been to a game. We know from our fans’ survey that they want to help us grow the club’s fanbase. I can assure our regular supporters that they haven’t been forgotten either and we will be announcing some ticket offers for them very shortly.”
