TRIBUTE PLANNED FOR THOSE WE HAVE LOST

8 December 2021

BURTON Albion will be organising a minute’s silence to pay tribute to those connected with the football club who have sadly passed away.

The tribute will take place before kick-off on New Year’s Day when the Brewers play Crewe and there's still time to add people to the list.

Supporters are urged to email the club by Friday, December 17, with the names of anyone they wish to be remembered. They will then be named in the matchday programme and mentioned on the PA before kick-off.

Burton Albion Chairman Ben Robinson said: “We haven’t been able to pay tribute to fans who have passed away while we played behind closed doors and after all that everyone has endured during the pandemic we thought it was time to remember all those we have lost.

“Football clubs bring people together and we are all connected to each other through our love of Burton Albion, often making lifelong friendships through our shared love of the club.

“We will therefore hold a minute’s silence at the Crewe home game, and we invite you all to submit names of those you wish to be remembered.”

If you wish to remember someone who has passed away in the last 18 months and who had a passion for Burton Albion, please email nigel.powlson@burtonalbionfc.co.uk by December 17. Please tell us the full name of the person to be remembered, their connection to the Brewers and add any dedication you want to appear in the programme.
