RYAN BROOM SIGNS ON LOAN FROM PETERBOROUGH UNITED

1 February 2021

BURTON Albion have completed the signing of Ryan Broom on loan from Peterborough United until the end of the season.

Broom becomes our ninth signing of the January transfer window.

Broom signed for the Posh in the summer following two seasons at Cheltenham Town, where he scored 10 goals in 73 league games.

The 24-year-old began his career with Bristol Rovers, taking in loan spells at Bath City and Eastleigh, before moving to Town.

In his half-season at the ABAX Stadium, Broom has made 15 league appearances, 18 in all competitions, scoring once in a 3-1 win over Swindon Town.

Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says Broom will give Albion much-needed options in the final third.

"I think Ryan is a fantastic addition to the squad," said Hasselbaink.

"He's done really well with Cheltenham and Peterborough as well.

"He's what we need in the attacking third in terms of energy he brings in and the creativity, and hopefully more goals as well.

"He'll bring competition and we're delighted with that."

"I had the chance to speak to the manager on a Zoom call, and it was good to see his ideas for the rest of the season, how he sees the team playing and how I fit into that," said Broom.

"I know the team's position but this is an opportunity for me to come and play some games and help the team as much as I can."

Welcome to Burton Albion, Ryan!
