THE Brewers have donated a sizeable amount of unused matchday stock to the Community Kitchen Hub in Burton.
Following the extended lockdown, unutilised matchday stock at the Pirelli Stadium will now go towards helping to provide hot meals for vulnerable people in the local area.
Chairman Ben Robinson MBE DL said that the best place for the outstanding stock was to a local charity that could distribute the food to people that needed it the most.
He said: “As we have a large amount of stock that the business cannot utilise during the extended lockdown, we are pleased to pass it on to a great community project in order for them to distribute it to people that need it the most in our area.”
The Community Kitchen Hub, based at the Grail Court Hotel on Station Street in Burton, was setup with sole purpose of providing a free hot meal for children, the elderly and vulnerable people.
Any families, elderly or vulnerable people that need a free hot meal each, are urged to text the word ‘nominate’ to 66777 or call Darren Clarke on 07904398891.
