GALLERY: BURTON ALBION 0-0 MANCHESTER UNITED [15 YEARS ON]

8 January 2021

FIFTEEN years ago today, Burton Albion took on Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United at the Pirelli Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup.

Then a Conference side against the might of United, the Brewers shocked the country by turning in a stunning performance and securing a 0-0 draw against a side that, by the end, featured England's eventual record goalscorer Wayne Rooney and future Ballon D'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

There proved to be no way through for the Red Devils that evening, with Nigel Clough's Albion securing a famous replay at Old Trafford that would prove so, so important to the club in so many ways.

It remains one of the most famous nights at the Pirelli Stadium - from the Gerard Pique handball (or was it?) to Saul Deeney's last-ditch save from Ritchie Jones, it is a night few Brewers fans will ever forget.

Take a look through our gallery of images above and tweet the club (@burtonalbionfc) with your memories and pictures from a famous night in our history!
