BURTON Albion’s away friendly fixture against Grantham Town on Wednesday (21 July) has been cancelled.
The game was due to be played by a Burton Albion XI, mostly made up of Youth Team players, but due to positive Covid-19 cases within the club’s U18 side, the club has taken the decision to cancel the fixture.
The Brewers’ first team have not been in contact with these players. All first team staff and players have been tested this morning (Monday) and have all tested negative. The first team will continue to be tested throughout this week.
Tomorrow evening’s first team away fixture against Scunthorpe United (20 July) and Saturday’s home fixture against Leicester City (24 July) are set to go ahead as planned.
The Academy area of the stadium has been closed until further notice and will not reopen until fit to do so.
The Club Shop remains open and other activities and business at the Pirelli Stadium continues as normal.
