DANNY ROWE SIGNS NEW ONE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH BURTON ALBION

21 June 2021

BURTON Albion are delighted to confirm that winger Danny Rowe has signed a new one-year deal to stay at the Pirelli Stadium for the 2021/22 season.

The 29-year-old signed a short-term deal with the Brewers in February and went on to make 15 appearances, scoring once in our 2-1 win away at Charlton Athletic.

Rowe joined the Brewers after leaving Ipswich Town and having had two successful loan spells with Lincoln City. He began his career with Stockport County in 2009 before joining Barrow in 2012 and then having two spells at Macclesfield Town between 2013 and 2017.

Mick McCarthy paid an undisclosed fee to Macclesfield in January 2017 to bring Rowe to Ipswich, for whom he made 23 appearances.

Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is pleased to have Rowe signed up for next season.

"Danny came in last season and we had to get him up to speed, but you could see his quality," said Hasselbaink.

"He had a few niggles last season that stopped him getting a full run of games but we're really pleased to secure him for this season.

"We're looking forward to seeing him in pre-season and the benefit that will bring him and we think he'll bring a lot to us."

Rowe is looking forward now to having a full pre-season with the Brewers and starting next season on the front foot - as well as playing in front of the Albion faithful.

"I'm absolutely delighted (to be staying)," Rowe told iFollow Brewers.

"It was a great end to last season. When I came in, everything was upbeat, there was a great atmosphere and I'm buzzing to stay on.

"As soon as the season finished I knew I wanted to stay here, so I'm really happy now it's sorted."

Burton Albion can also clarify that defender Michael Bostwick is under contract for the 2021/22 season.
