BURTON Albion Commercial Director Fleur Robinson received a special award from the club to mark more than 25 years of service.
Fleur will be taking up a new role as Chief Executive of Wrexham AFC on June 1 and Sunday’s away game at Oxford will be the last of more than 1,450 matches since she joined the club at Eton Park in the 1994/1995 season.
At the club’s awards night, Fleur was presented with an engraved cut glass rose bowl for Special Recognition for Exceptional Service to Burton Albion.
Chairman Ben Robinson said: “Fleur is leaving the club to take up an exciting new challenge at Wrexham and we couldn’t let her leave without saying how much we appreciate all she has done for the football club.
“When Fleur started in the 1994/1995 season, we were a small non-league club in a small ground and all we had were dreams of what could be for Burton Albion. All these years later we have seen this club move to the Pirelli Stadium, spend two years in the Championship, reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals and deliver a massive community benefit week in and week out.
“It’s been an incredible time and Fleur has been instrumental in making all those dreams come true.
“She now leaves with our blessing, and our support.”
Fleur said: “I have loved every minute of working at Burton Albion and although I’m greatly looking forward to my new role, I will be very sad to leave so many great friends at Burton Albion.
“The Chairman has always been my inspiration and I will miss working with him, as well as all the tremendous staff and volunteers at the club, community trust and Academy.
“I also want to thank all of our wonderful sponsors, partners and fans for their support over the years.
“It’s been a brilliant 25 years for Burton Albion and long may it continue.”
