PREMIER League giants Newcastle United will visit the Pirelli Stadium as part of Burton Albion’s exciting 2021/22 pre-season campaign.
Manager Steve Bruce will bring his Magpies squad, which features such stars as Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles and Miguel Almiron, for a pre-season friendly on Friday, July 30 (7.45pm kick-off).
The Magpies finished 12th in last season’s Premier League table following a strong end to the season, which included five wins in their final eight games of the campaign.
That game will take place eight days before the start of the new Sky Bet League One season, with our 2021/22 fixtures to be revealed on June 24.
We can also confirm two of our away friendlies for this summer’s pre-season preparations.
The Brewers will visit Nuneaton Borough at Liberty Way on Tuesday, July 6 (7.45pm), a regular opponent for us over the decades - and recent friendlies and Senior Cup games against Boro have always seen plenty of goals.
We will also take a Burton Albion XI to Grantham’s South Kesteven Sports Stadium on Wednesday, July 21, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
