BREWERS DRAWN AT HOME TO PORT VALE IN FA CUP SECOND ROUND

8 November 2021

BURTON Albion will play Port Vale at home in the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The Brewers will take on the team who are second in League Two after being paired in tonight's draw which took place on ITV with Rachel Yankey and Shaun Wright-Phillips doing the honours.

Albion earned a place in the draw after beating Fleetwood away in the First Round on Saturday.

Brewers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said: "We are pleased to be at home. We have to make that home advantage work for us.

"When you are in the cup, nothing is easy and you don't take anything for granted. They are going well in League Two so it's going to be a tough match. I'm just pleased for our our fans that we are at home."

Both teams will know that they are only 90 minutes away from a potentially lucrative Third Round tie but that won't be on Hasselbaink's mind.

"We have to be clear that we just have to think about this tie first and try once again to get ourselves in the hat. We won't get ahead of ourselves. There is still a lot of work to be done and we won't underestimate them or take them lightly.

"Hopefully, on the day we can get a lot of our fans here and they will bring a lot of supporters and the stadium will be packed and we can get a really good cup atmosphere going."

The game will be played on the weekend of December 3-6, with the actual date and ticket details to be confirmed.
