BURTON Albion assistant manager Dino Maamria confirmed that Jacob Maddox will be out for the next week or two, including tonight's game against Accrington Stanley (7.45pm kick-off).
Maddox was forced off the pitch at Stadium MK just prior to half-time with a hamstring issue - and while the prognosis is not too bad, it does rule him out of tonight's Sky Bet League One match at the Pirelli Stadium.
Maamria also confirmed that Michael Mancienne will be out through suspension after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season, but the Brewers will see the welcome return of wide-man Jonny Smith following his three-game suspension.
“Jacob isn’t too bad to be honest, but he is out for about a week or two," said Maamria.
"He is definitely out for the game and Kane Hemmings is about 50/50.
“Michael Mancienne is suspended because of the five yellow cards and the good news is that Jonny Smith returns to the squad from his suspension, so that will give us an added injection in the final third.
“Deji Oshilaja is unfortunately still suspended.”
Maamria also spoke on the opponents for tomorrow night, saying Accrington will provide a good game with both sides looking to pick up points.
“Accrington are a similar size club to us, and it will be a good game tomorrow," said the Brewers' assistant manager.
"It’s a game that they will be looking to pick up points just as we will be.
“I think we need to try and control possession a lot better, and at the same time try and create a few more chances when we have this possession.
“When you lose on the Saturday you want to get straight back to it, and now we have the chance to put that right.”
